September 14, 2012
Dear Friends,

Keep your spiritual seat-belt fastened tight, as the next new moon, and the next two weeks, bring in a succession of BIG waves of change, designed to assist us in taking a quantum leap forward in our evolution. We are at the end of an age, and the close of a 26,000 year cycle, propelling all of us to move through our remaining lessons at warp drive -- remembering
our divinity, moving into our hearts, and becoming conscious creators.

New moons
call us inward, to reflect on what has passed, and what we wish to manifest next. As this new moon precedes several extremely powerful astrological alignments, it offers important information for thriving in turbulent and transformative times. Virgo represents the birthing of consciousness from the spiritual to the physical world, and the development of humility, impeccability, and discernment. The Virgin symbolizes wholeness, and the ability to separate the wheat from the chaff, the essential from the extraneous; not picky, but particular, able to distinguish what is relevant and efficacious for this moment, this person, this situation. The shadow side of Virgo is expressed as martyrdom, work-aholism, and the myriad ways we distract ourselves from fears of worthlessness and inadequacy. This new moon calls us look at how we are managing our health, our time, our living and work-spaces, and our sacred work. What is your body telling you? Where is clutter slowing you down? What drains and distracts you from your real work? For valuable information on our bio-energetic evolution and how to stay in balance, read Celia Fenn’s article on The Spiritual Endocrine System at http://www.4dshift.com/products/html/Spiritual_Endocrine_System.html.

,
Pluto ends its yearly retrograde phase, telling us it is time to take a giant step forward. In Capricorn, Pluto exposes the consequences of abdicating our power and responsibility; its station direct starkly reveals what we must do now. What have we learned since Pluto stationed retrograde on April 10? Where do we still act as victims or slaves? How is life mirroring our beliefs and judgments? We are all being challenged to stand in our truth, power, and purpose. Whatever is not supporting our evolution and role to play at this crucial time is dissolving or being stripped away. Let it go. What you truly need will not be taken away. We can learn much from Nature and the turning of the seasons. Trees do not struggle to hold onto their leaves. They know spring will come again, even though the veil of death appears to be everywhere. The more difficult things become on the outside, the more necessary our inner life becomes. Remember you are a child of the Divine, and that you are never alone, never separate, never without resources. Remember also: The sooner we let go of the old, the sooner we move on to the new.

From The Grandmothers Speak September Message:

"…in all periods of transition there will be moments of confusion, disagreements with one another, fears, etc. Growing pains. Expect it in yourself and expect it in others. Do not be concerned when disharmony rears its head. At times like these, it will.... So much is changing now that the mind becomes uncomfortable, and when your mind is uncomfortable, you revert back to the yang-based patterns you were taught. Then the judgments flare, the power struggles ensue, fears, angers, a need to 'control' others, to 'control' situations, and to 'control' your own feelings--all of these come up... None of them are pleasant, but during times of transition they show themselves. So as you move through these changing times, be easy on yourself and easy on one another. You are at the beginning of something new. You are learning a new way of being... You will find that you will be working less in the yang modes you are accustomed to... Instead of traveling toward a goal 'out there,' you will instead voyage deeper into yourself. Your mother's mother's mother knew how to do this. Your ancestors from long ago related to the whole of life. They knew the power of the Feminine Principle and because you carry their DNA in your body, this wisdom, this way of being is already within you. Call on it. Call it up. Invite your ancestors in. As the yang-based habits and the decaying institutions on our planet begin to crumble, look up. A Breeze is stirring. Feel the sun on your wings. And call on us, the Grand Mothers. Together with the twelve of us, you make thirteen. You are the thirteenth one, so take your place with us. You are not separate from the Divine... We promise that once you get a glimpse of the greathearted one you are, you will never miss your old yang-based perceptions of yourself and others. Instead, you will be free. You will live each day in the One Love.

, Uranus and Pluto form their second of seven exact squares, which span from June 2012 through March 2015, intensifying the need to make big changes in our lives. Where are you being forced to face your worst fears, own your shadow, and reclaim your power? Where do you need to be more independent, innovative, and unconventional? As Uranus, the planet of revolution, squares Pluto, the archetype of evolution, all that is not in alignment with our ascension in consciousness is being shaken up, down, and out. A square marks a turning point, and relates back to the previous conjunction. Uranus and Pluto met three times in 1965–66 (16°–17° Virgo) and were within 10° of each other most of that decade, famed for antiwar and civil rights demonstrations, feminism and “flower power,” the beginning of the Internet, and the first landing on the Moon, as well as the thalidomide tragedy and China’s Cultural Revolution. In 1986–87, when Uranus and Pluto were semi-square, we saw “Hands Across America” involving nearly 7,000,000 people, Gorbachev’s reforms in the USSR, and the ousting of Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos, as well as the Chernobyl disaster, Iran-gate, and the Black Monday stock market crash. Now, at the waxing squares, what was seeded at the conjunction needs to become firmly rooted. It’s time to manifest the Aquarian ideals of equality, peace, and prosperity for all.

Mercury, the traditional ruler of Virgo, conjuncts this new moon and forms an exact t-square with Uranus and Pluto on September 20, emphasizing that we have to think way out of the box. Uranus, the higher octave of Mercury, represents the higher mind, which combines logic and intuition; the opposition of these two planets triggers radical insights and revelations, while their squares to Pluto caution us to be tolerant and mindful of our motivations. Don’t be against anything — that just perpetuates the problem. Be pro-kindness. Choose love. Vesta and Ceres’ squares to the Sun and Moon, along with Pallas’ conjunction with Uranus and Juno’s conjunction with the North Node, call forth the power of the feminine to heal and unite.

September 22
marks the autumnal equinox in the northern hemisphere, the spring equinox in the southern. The alignment of the Earth’s equator with the Sun at the equinox causes a reduction in the Earth’s magnetic field, increasing access to higher dimensions and new information. These cosmic gateways were recognized by many ancient cultures: Stonehenge in the U.K., Chichen Itza in Mexico, and Chaco Canyon in the U.S. are among the most well known. The potency of this equinox is greatly increased by its proximity to Pluto’s station direct, the Uranus-Pluto square, and other even more powerful evolutionary impulses emanating from beyond our solar system. Equinoxes are especially potent times for meditation, prayer, and ceremonial gatherings; use it to bless what is leaving, shifting, and birthing in your life.

Change is exhilarating and scary. Fritz Perls once said, “Fear is excitement without the breath.” When you notice yourself feeling afraid, slow and deepen your breathing. Carol Steinel (www.CosmicLaugh.com) offers a great way to deal with fear: “Allow yourself to imagine what you fear. Ask yourself how far in the future it is (hours, days, years away?). Explore it. Then imagine drawing your consciousness back into your third eye. Feel the energy in your body. Claim and dedicate that energy. Then imagine sending your consciousness out to that time/space again, and now place a picture of what you do want to experience.” Fear, like power, is just energy. Fear-mongering is a very efficient way to control people. Keep in mind that those who seek to control others are also coming from a place of fear. Evolution means going into the unknown, into chaos. The ancient Egyptian and Biblical meaning of chaos was “the void at the beginning of creation.” Chaos theory, developed in the 1960s by Edward Lorenz, tells us that a small, seemingly insignificant change in the beginning can drastically shift the long-term behavior of a system. One thought, one word, one person can make a huge difference. Watch a short, fascinating video on chaos theory at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3orIIcKD8p4&feature=related

The time has come for each of us to be in our full power and integrity. Focus. Eliminate distractions and drains. Trust your inner guidance, and remember: “The future is completely open, and we are writing it moment to moment.” -- Pema Chodron
