Dear Friends,

The next new moon forms on Friday, December 11 at 2:29 AM PST. Each new moon encodes an evolutionary download, configured by the sacred geometry of our solar system. As the Sun, Moon, and planets transit across the backdrop of the zodiac, the electromagnetic field of the Earth and all its inhabitants are exposed to new energetic matrices and possibilities. This new moon in Sagittarius, along with several other factors, offers us an expanded perspective on our destiny and our relationship with the cosmos. Four hundred years ago, everyone “knew” that the Earth was flat. What “flat Earth” beliefs are we still living by?

Sagittarius is the sign most concerned with meaning, purpose, and truth. We perceive and interpret all of our experiences through a multilayered filter, which is shaped by our childhood conditioning, gender, race, nation, education, religious background, media and cultural programming, plus the tendencies encoded in our astrological chart. Until we encounter something outside our customary frame of reference, we remain unaware of our assumptions and biases.

Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, squares this new moon, prompting us to be more diligent in discerning fact from fallacy. Squares represent turning points, and this one helps us discover where we may be operating based on inaccurate or outdated information. It also helps us to see how judgment and criticism are a huge waste of our time and energy; that rather than fixating on a problem, we can be envisioning and working toward a solution.

Chiron in Pisces also squares this new moon; its opposition to Jupiter generates a mutable T-square, a dynamic configuration which challenges us to reevaluate our most fundamental beliefs. Whether or not we were raised in a Judeo-Christian faith, we have been influenced by a deeply embedded collective belief in original sin; the conviction that we are inherently flawed and disconnected from the Divine makes us much more susceptible to manipulation and control, as we seek validation from authority figures rather than trusting our inner knowing.

We are in the end times of the Piscean Age, which involves releasing the archetype of sin and redemption, victim and savior, encoded in the biblical myth of the Fall from the Garden of Eden. Moving into the Aquarian Age requires that we reclaim our power as individuals, while also recognizing that we are equal, integral parts of a larger whole. Rather than looking to be saved, we are learning to ultimately embody Christ consciousness — to realize that we are all divine beings, and to live the Golden Rule in every respect, knowing that everyone and everything is connected.

Venus’s trine to Neptune further supports the opening of our heart and mind to spiritual realities beyond the borders of our previous understandings. As the higher octave of Venus, Neptune represents unconditional love, which is not based on personality or preference, but on the remembrance that we are all unique emanations of the Cosmos, eternally exploring and experiencing creation.

While we are technically on the other side of the seven exact squares formed by Uranus and Pluto over the past three years, we are still in the backwash of those intense evolutionary waves, as Uranus and Pluto move slowly out of alignment. Whenever the Sun, Moon, or another planet aligns with Uranus or Pluto, we receive a reminder as to where we still need to make important changes. Only a few hours before the formation of this new moon,

Mars makes an exact opposition to Uranus, galvanizing us to “think different” and explore new directions. Beware of impatience; frustration and fear precipitate regrettable acts. Be both courageous and considerate. December 19-20 Mercury conjuncts Pluto and squares Uranus, revealing where we need to be completely honest with ourself and others. Because of its upcoming retrograde on January 5, 2016,Mercury will activate the waning Uranus-Pluto square again January 20-22 and January 29-31, urging us to clear up any remaining misunderstandings and misperceptions.

December 13-14 is the peak of one of the best meteor showers of the year, with up to 120 ‘falling stars’ per hour. The Geminids, named because they appear to originate from the constellation of Gemini, arrive each year between December 4-16. Meteors travel at 22 miles (35 km) per second and ignite in the Earth’s atmosphere 30-80 miles above ground; the few meteorites which land carry potential sources of new life in the form of amino acids and other organic compounds. To view, look towards the south starting around 9-10 PM; peak activity is generally around 2 AM.

We are less than two weeks from the winter solstice, which occurs December 21 at 8:49 PM PST. The word “solstice” derives from the Latin words for “sun” and “stand still,” as the Sun appears to rise and set at the same location on the horizon for three days. During that time, the Earth receives an increased flux of cosmic energies. Since ancient times, many cultures have understood and celebrated the “Return of the Light”, the rebirth of Spirit in humankind.

With the bustle of holiday preparations, it's easy to forget the divine origins and deeper meaning of this time of year. Take advantage of this profound opportunity to realign and reaffirm your soul intentions. Make time for silence, surrender, and self-reflection, as well as gatherings with friends and family. In times of darkness, we are called to lean on the light within. Know that your consciousness, your love, your light makes a difference, not only to those around you, but to the world.

We are on an extraordinary journey, on a singular planet, at a pivotal time. “Right now our focus is on embodying this Christ consciousness for each individual expression, and staying focused on bringing in and forth this New Light. We provide stability for Gaia, kingdoms, elementals and HUmanity by being present with how we feel, nurturing ourselves, being of service to our family, friends and those in our presence… Get out and do the good work. Plant the crystals, bless the water, write the poems, paint the New Earth, meditate on the Solar light within, merge with Source, open the Gates. The Land, the air, the water, the HUmans, the kingdoms – all is unifying in this cosmic light…” (Sandra Walters; full message Here.)
